Daydreaming About My Love

$4,500.00

24 × 36 in · Invasive lionfish leather, acrylic, pigment, 24k gold leaf on gallery-wrapped canvas

Daydreaming About My Love began with a simple desire: to make something that feels like being gently carried by affection.

Across the white field, dozens of softly cupped forms drift in a loose constellation, as if they’ve been sprinkled through the air mid-laugh. Each shape is made from invasive lionfish leather, painted in luminous blues, pinks, and violets, then wet-formed into shallow, cupped and rounded “pebbles” that catch light and cast delicate shadows.

Every edge is finished in bright 24 karat gold leaf, so the whole surface sparkles with tiny moments of warmth. The pink glow behind them is subtle but alive, like a blush in the atmosphere. From across the room it reads as airy and effortless. Up close, it’s all detail, texture, and a little bit of celebration.

What it’s made of, and why it matters
This artwork is made from invasive lionfish removed from Caribbean reefs. Lionfish eat the juvenile reef fish that help keep algae in check, and without those young fish, reefs can suffocate. Removing lionfish is one of the most effective local actions for easing pressure on reef ecosystems and supporting reef recovery.

By bringing Daydreaming About My Love into your home, you’re not just collecting a work of art. You’re partnering in ocean conservation, and you’ll be reminded, each time it catches the light, that beauty can be part of restoration.
